WELL ,my buddy gil and me bought safari's however they were made in MALAYSIA HAS ANYBODY GOT ONE MADE THERE?are they ok?wondering about the quality ?would appreciate any feed back you can share.thank you.--------------------------------------:pulltab:bill.

I had a Safari and thought it was an outstanding detector.

If you are considering any Minelab .....it might be a good idea to wait
until they open up the service center in Chicago.

If a problem should occur .....you will have a real challenge
getting it fixed. It's been common knowledge that this is
the only drawback.

I would like to buy another Minelab but considering the above,
I'll hold off until they can get that in order.

From what I was told ...
The components for the Minelab machines are still being mfg. in Australia and will continue to be made in Australia in the future.
In the past they were assembled in Ireland - from now on they will be assembled in Malaysia.
And as mentioned above - the US repair facility is currently being moved from Las Vegas to Chicago.
