Interesting video release from XP this morning.
Can’t tell too much other than a different rod system and a larger remote control. It’s nice to see that they doubled down on the shitty connection to the rod lol 😂 we will see. If you see some additional information posted up here.

Looks like they want to compete with the Vanquish and Score mid priced detectors. At the very least I hope its more sturdy than previous models.

I wonder if this is intended to be a flagship model or a lesser midrange cost unit. In other words replacing the D2 or just expanding the line.

If you have Deus 2 coils and back phones you only need a control box ?
Will they create whole new coils and headphones?

I don't necessarily need a cheaper version. I need a model that is a little less complicated. At 80 years young, it gets harder to comprehend complicated stuff.

One thing is sure it will be dearer than the new nokta models

Will
It be multi frequency too?

The XP ICON 7X is a new model leaked on some overseas websites in June 2025. It appears XP has taken the basic operation of the XP Deus II and incorporated it into a new controller. This means existing Deus II rods and coils will work with the new ICON 7X controller. Information indicates the units is a dry land model that may only be used in water to wading depths while not submerging the controller. However, it is also possible this is a shallow water unit good to 10 feet. This remains to be clarified as initial information is unclear on this subject. The USB port on the left side of the pod has a locking cover mechanism, which supports the idea of at least some submersion capability.

The most obvious change is a completely new control and display layout, one much more in tune with traditional detectors than previous XP controllers. This was no doubt in response to complaints about the current XP models unique menus systems, which are opaque at best. The new ICON 7X promises to offer much easier access to machine functions, with a more focused set of control options, better menu design, a larger display, and larger buttons. All in all a very welcome change for people used to other brands and looking to make the leap to XP.
