The Next Chapter on My Upgraded F75

Coin Rescue Inc

Well-known member
I jumped in on the upgrade in November of 2014.
Mine came back around Nov 20th and worked pretty good.
My second time out with it I discovered a 1897 Barber Quarter. A personal best for me.
As this 11 14 14 serial number thing played out I became concerned several times and spoke to the nice people at Fisher.
I had the MA MA tone in 2nd as 2L. I was assured that it was a minor flaw in hardware. They said If I wished to have it fixed give them a call and they would take care of it. All upgraded F75 units share the same programing.
So I waited until February after the Holidays and contacted Fisher. They sent me a return authorization number and a shipping label. If you have any issues with your Upgrade I recommend you call them and discuss the issue. It is much better than just emailing.
My repaired unit came home Thursday afternoon. It appears they replaced the display this time and the MA MA tone is gone.
The unit appears to work well when I tested it this afternoon. Depth and sensitivity seem fine.
The only thing I wish it could do is melt snow.
I tested several coins laying then next to nails to test 2 And 3 tone separation. The high tone comes thru above the iron Grunt so I am ready for spring. I am going to concentrate on masked coins.
I would like to thank Fisher for their help in resolving my issues.

I had almost the same issue. Sent to Fisher twice, I am a happy camper now.

The MaMa pinpoint I decided was an issue. If you are trying to pinpoint with two targets near each other (I want to dig the dime, not the nail) so I sent it back a second time.

Hope the weather breaks for you.

What? You didn't get the upgraded heated coil ???????????? !!!!...........

are you saying now it will only pinpoint the dime. if the pinpoint is all metal I would think it would still get both.

I was not pin pointing, just sweeping the coil for normal scan. In 2 tones you get both an iron grunt and higher tone that is not iron.
I made a video on another thread.
you are correct. Pinpoint is all metal. You would get both.
When I dug the 1897 quarter I first dug up a rusty nail out of the hole. I retested with the F75 and the coin was in the grass plug.

Now I wish I Did!

Chuck,

This is my interpretation of what was happening.

No, before the fixed upgrade the MaMa in pinpoint was an overload signal ruining any chance to fine tune the target's precise location or separation when trying to decide if there was two targets or a nail falsing. If I had been running all metal I might have been able to see the two targets or they may have combined into one, but with the MaMa bug the F75 was overloading not allowing you to fine tune where the target was. The MaMa bug is only when using disc.
