Doing a little research and scouting finally paid off. I just knew the area was ripe for silver coins. Yesterday was my first day at the new site and I found 6 wheat pennies (1941, 1944, 1941,1944, 1952, 1944 ). I was convinced that I was on the right track. Today I was about 30 yards from where I found the wheat pennies yesterday when I got a high tone and a VDI reading of 84/85. That high pitched tone and numbers put a smile on my face.
I dug down around 5 inches out pops a 1944 Mercury Dime. No more silver for me today, but I did manage to find another wheat penny (1957) and some more clad and copper coins.
I'm betting that there's plenty of silver at this new location for me to find. I just need to zero in on the walk patterns.
I was able to run the Omega with its highest sensitivity setting without much chatter if I kept the discrimination setting around 40. The G/B was 60 and I was using 3 tones.
The Omega and the 10 inch DD coil are a perfect match.
I hate the long coil cable though.

I see you are still hitting it hard just about every day.
I know it sure likes silver dimes. The 10 inch concentric coil is OK and works great in heavy concentrations of pry-caps, but I prefer the 10 inch DD coil best of all, but I hate the long cable that comes with it. Teknetics won't shorten it for you, even for a fee.
