If it beeps, I'm digging. I found a bunch of clad coins today at a local school. I also found a few wheat pennies (1951, 1941, 1956, 1935, 1944 and 19??), and a 1963 silver quarter. Nothing was very deep and the VDI numbers numbers were jumpy and weak. I was using the 10 inch DD coil. The area that I was hunting was under some high power electric wires and it was making the detector act goofy. I'm going back with a different detector next time to see what I left behind.

Nice finds Tabman....I've got a new 10"DD coil for my Omega and G2..haven't had a chance to use it much..how do you find the 10"dd compared to to the 11"dd for depth?

A jewelry polishing cloth does a great job cleaning silver coins. This not so old quarter was somewhat oxidize looking when it came out of the ground. It took me a second to realize it was silver. Some of the older silver coins that I've dug came right out of the ground all bright and shiny.

Whimpters, the 11 inch DD coil is around a couple of inches deeper than the 10 inch DD coil.
