With the ground being so dry and hard to dig, I decided to do some shallow coin shooting at a fairly new school and wait for some rain before going back to my honey hole that has been producing some old deep silver coins. The Omega has been staying in the car at that site because of high EMI from nearby power lines. My Vaquero and Gold Bug don't seem to be bothered much with EMI. Luckily today there was no EMI problem at the new location and the Omega ran without any chatter with it's 10 concentric inch coil. After about 20 minutes I decide that I could cover the area faster with the 11 inch DD coil. It started chattering a little with the 11 inch coil, but I was able to get it to stop chattering by running the sensitivity back to around 60. I was pinpointing off the nose of the coil instead of using the pinpoint button. It's a lot faster doing it that way on shallow coins. The Omega is a coin hound. It gave me a good workout today.
I found 161 coins: 43 quarters, 76 dimes, 29 nickels, 13 pennies and a 92.5 silver heart ring.
