It was already 86 degrees at 5:40 when I fired up the Omega this morning. I had decided on the way to the fields to re-hunt the corner that had yielded me 2 Seated dimes earlier. Although I had hunted it a couple of times from north, south and east west directions, this morning I went at different angles and ultimately came away with some keepers. My first good dug target was the 1910 V nickel. It was quite bouncy, but had some depth, 6," and was close to the nickel range, 54-60. Anyway, good enough to dig on this site. Shortly there after I dug the 44 holed Merc. at about 4." It was on edge and also a bit bouncy, 82-86. My next 2 good targets were the wheat cents. It wasn't until I hot home and after a water rinse that I realized one was a 1922 D. The other was a 1911. My last good target was the 1910 D Barber. This one sounded good all the way around and was between 6 and 7, " although also a bit bouncy. Our ground right now except in shaded areas and low spots is bone dry down to the 6-7" depth range. Which, I suspect, accounts for the more then usual bouncy numbers on the Omega. Per the norm when using the Omega on this site, 11" DD coil, 99 sen, 1 disc, d4 tones and gb of 64. Thanks for looking. I tend to forget how hot summer can be when we're stuck in the middle of winter here.
