I took to the Omega with the 10 inch DD coil back to where I hunted yesterday with the T2SE to see if I could rustle up some more silver coins. Right off I found a 1944 Mercury Dime that gave a strong 82 to 85 VDI number. It was 4 to 5 inches deep. It wasn't 15 minutes later and within feet of where I found the Mercury Dime, I got a nice tight high pitch tone. The VDI reading was 91 to 93. I dug down to around 5 inches and out pops a nice 1944 Washington Quarter. For the next few hours I managed to find 4 Wheat Pennies (1959,1944, 1945, 1944). The deepest one was a little over 6 inches deep. I called it day around 1:00 o'clock, because of the heat and my batteries were wearing down. The Omega with the 10 inch DD coil is a great combination for finding silver coins.

I had the sensitivity set at 99, the discrimination set at 39, with 3 tones. GB was 58/60.

Thanks Mud! I first use a soft toothbrush with some soap to clean off the dirt, then I use a jewelry cleaning cloth like this:



I'm not sure if you should do this if it's key date coin or not. I just like mine all bright and shiny.
