The Paradox of Self-Control

Synonyms for self-control include self-discipline, strength of mind, and willpower. This fruit of the Spirit extends far beyond simply restraining Christians from doing what's prohibited but includes enabling us to do what's good. First John 2:15, 16 admonishes us to stay away from three lusts. "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For everything in the world

I know that prayer and baptism of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is what keeps us walking with and following Jesus to endure and overcome the flesh! I used to be more faithful in praying than I do now.....but I do know praying is powerful with the leading of the Holy Spirit, for He knows what we need to pray for, even when we don't! I am getting more ill day by day and took a pain pill that I thought was causing me to break out and itch! I am trying again and hope and pray my pain is eased and with Jesus' help I can endure and overcome this illness.....whatever it may be besides COPD and Osteo-Arthritis! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
