The Prizm

For the money, the M6 performs much better. I only kept my 6T for a couple of weeks.

The 6T has several of the whites top of the line features such as VDI numbers and VCO pinpointing and is a pound less in weight then most of the upper end detectors. The only downside is auto ground balance but unless you are in extreme ground conditions it's a good machine.

Tone ID On or Off, Back-light On or Off, and there's more.

It has a very fast automated Ground Balance that's about as quick as the MXT;s and M6, and you can turn tracking On or Off (I prefer Off once I get a good GB for the area I am hunting). It doesn't have a preset GB and i have used the 6T in some very mineralized areas with good success and ground handling abilities. It is light and handy, and runs a good while on 8-AA alkaline batteries.

Yes, the price is high but they do have their coupon system to knock it down $100, and some of us discount it a little more than that, The stock coil is fine for many open areas, but if you hunt trashier sites, the Prizm Shooter coil is a dandy! If you have any specific questions, shoot me an e-mail.

I used the 6T for a couple of years. This is a very capable machine loaded with features that work. The only problem to me and my way of hunting was it did poorly around metal structures (metal playground equipment, metal buildings, some tore out sidewalks, ect;) It is just too ratty around metal structures for me. The 4x6 coil is a must for this unit. I traded mine in on a new M6 and got a 5.3 eclipse coil (6.5 inch). The M6 is tailor made for coins and jewelry and this is what I like to hunt.

Would you have or know of a Prizm 4x6 dd shooter coil with cover and/or lower rod for sale? If coil is all you might have I would be interested in buying. Thanks !! 417-545-1585 or gp4pla@yahoo.com.

get the M6 and throw a eclipse 5.3 coil on it.........much much better. The Prism was a horrible line of detectors. If not the M6 then I would get a classic ID, Classic IDX or the IDX pro with a Bullseye 5.3 coil JMHO
