The "punch" of the LTD in bp

After the blind installers (Elton, I'm telling you its never ending) finished their job this morning and since I hadn't done any swinging since last Th., I decided to venture out and give it a shot. Here at the house, we had gotten a good bit of rain, which turned to sleet and ice, followed by 2" of snow, which, had pretty much melted in all but the shaded area's by mid morning. Unfortunately, just north of here where I went to hunt, they apparently had received 4" or so of snow and there were still just a few area's that I could see any grass peaking through the snow. Since I was there, I decided to give a few of those spots a shot. The snow, on average, was still about 2" deep and then there was about 3-4" of grass for the LTD to also punch through. Right off, with the 5" coil on, I got a quarter reading, removed a area of snow, dug a small clod and knelt down to flip the clod over and promptly soaked my knee pad and pants leg in the mushy snow. :surprised: Shouldn't have been, but I wasn't thinking. Anyway, I ended up digging 2 wheats 3 Memorial cents and 15 clad coins. The deepest coin, a dime, was about 6," but through the snow and grass, it was still a solid hit in the bp mode. Last fall one time I had tried this spot with my regular F 75 and had intermittent periods of interference from some nearby power lines and I had to drop sen. down to about 55 at times, if I remember correctly, to quiet it down. Today, running with a sen. setting of 87, I experienced no interference what so ever for the hour or so I was there. HH jim tn

so glad Fisher is going to, or has, made a new F75LTD (BLACK)... I hope to soon be the proud owner of one. Keep those reports posted here JIm..I like what your saying. THanks... Whoo we I don't have to get a "BUBBA" Model...That pleases me LOL

I actually thought the camo was a great selling feature of the LTD, I've been swingin' a "black box" for 4 years and the camo is a definite upgrade for me....LOL....but to each his own I guess.

i liked the uniqueness of the camo. I knew I would have a LTD after reading about them but I also knew the camo ones would be really cool
Unfortunately, I would have to paint it white to camo it for Indiana today. Come on Spring - - -

I wasn't initially crazy about the BUBBA decor either, but honestly in person it's pretty darn nice, it's more like a Sierra Club nature scene (oh wait, the Sierra Club s u c k s....what am I talking about?).

You can count on Bubba when the going gets rough, Just saying......

My camo LTD looks and works great!:csflag:

By the way, how's that elitist, intellectual, bleeding heart, yankee gov't working for ya the last 150 years?

Before this gets too political, I gotta say I could give a rat's bottom how the LTD looks.

There's a practical reason for hunting equipment to be camo, not so with detectors. I don't think we're going to be scaring any old coins or relics off...

Aesthetically I guess I prefer the black. But hypothetically speaking, if they are both the same detector available at the same time and one is $10 cheaper than the other then that's the one I'll take. That's how little I care.

they suck!..you guys should have won!
