A lot of science is based on pesumption and assumption and a lot of times theories in certain areas of science are changed as we learn more.I believe it is fair to say that most people,even with what we know now realise that the earth is over 6000 years old......radio carbon dating,ice cores and silt layers may contain variables but they are not inacurate by millions of years.Science gets more accurate on a daily basis and this may be worrying for people who believe the earth was created by God 6000 years ago and such people will always try to find negatives in science to keep their beliefs intact.Knowledge is the enemy of faith but it is such knowledge that is teaching us that what is said in the bible may not all be true.

What I have said in above posts does not mean that I am a non believer.....i just believe that events may have happened differently than what is said in the bible.The statement "that is how it happened because that is what the bible says" is a totally invalid argument with no relevance to facts at all.As I said,this does not make me a non believer....too many things have happened to me lately that have given me a strong feeling that I have had a helping hand from something I cannot explain and it has given me a very positive outlook.I do not think any science could explain the sense of peace and calm I feel at the moment and I do not think I could have achieved it through my own means.

Yeah, thats the thing isn't it? Something happens that cant be explained or denied. Good for you to do your due dilligence, so many others similarly tapped dont.
Pilgrims Progress is a good short read with an interesting backstory of how the publishers ripped the author (John Bunyan) off and merrily printed millions of copies without paying a royalty! Ha! Sometimes God does work in mysterious ways! Charles M. Sheldon wrote "In His Steps" which is a helpful read too..

Neil, (The Bible is all Truth) as God breathed life into us, Gods Word is God breathed
The( WORD) is actually Jesus. Jesus was with God when the Earth was created.
In the beginning was Word and the Word was with God. Jesus states I am the truth
the Word and the light. I think we all try to create, or imagine a bible that relates and
conforms to our personal lifestyle. There are so many different interpretations of the
Bible. The reason for so many denominations is that everyone reacts or feels a separate
in their beliefs of scripture. I don't believe it is based on individual interpretation as much as
it is on how scripture affects the individual. The Bible is the only living Word, that being said
its' Scripture will affect each person differently because of this fact many base how the Word
affects them as an interpretation of how the World should see it causing division!
Neil, notable circumstances happening in your life are Gods way of being subtle. I am
sure that in your quest of understanding both creationism and the scientific you have many
Christians praying that God would show himself to you.
