An indian head penny lovers nightmare. All hit within the Indian penny window.
Even the grey line disc at 6 inches doesn't catch them all...somehow , they get pretty deep in most ground.
If you are after the indians you will dig plenty of zinc pennies, wheat cents, screw caps, small copper wire bits
and a few rivets...but it is the stinking zincoln that shows up the most.
Take the 1-10 pattern....if ih's are possible and the only way to know is by the dates of the coins you are digging, then the 30's
is a keeper. But if you are not hitting coins back to 1910, the 30's window can be disc'd out to stop the chance of digging zincolns.
You also then lose your chance of digging an ih penny.
Again...it is all about matching the area you are hunting to the coins you are digging up. If your area dates back to 1940's, silver yes,
Zincolns no! Which takes us back to the grey line disc and deep 30's targets...target's that hit very deep within the grey line area should be dug
for possible indian head pennies. I would advise you to keep the 30's window using the 1-10 pattern and dig only the deep 30's to avoid a pocket
full of stinking zincolns. Watch the depth of the 30's target as your first line of discrimination.
