I decided to take my Tesoro Compadre out for a little while this morning after reading some of the other recent posts about the amazing Compadre. It has been leaning up against the wall for sometime now and not getting any attention. Looking back, I remember how many small chains it had found for me when I first started using it. I haven't found a small chain since I stopped using the Compadre. Well I didn't find a chain with it today, but I did find a large 18K Gold wedding band. I set the discrimination just slightly below 'f' in 'foil'. My plan was to dig no less than 50 repeatable targets at that setting. I started digging a bunch of foil sports drink caps so I moved the dial up to dead on 'f' to discriminate them out. I meandered about the soccer field for a long period of time without getting a beep or sound. It was a peaceful silence on a gorgeous morning.
I finally found a couple of pieces of can slaw, a 6 inch deep nickel, a couple of pull tabs and a really corroded zinc penny.
Then it happened.
I got a unmistakable beep that told me that I found something good.
Here are some pictures of my find and some other gold rings that Tesoro detectors have found for me this year.
