Thats what i thought, was out there today, windy at first but later in the afternoon it was just a steady calm along the beach at Sterling State, the tide went out even more, another 50 - 60 feet , barely any waves being produced by the lake.I think this drought we are having and its still actually getting worse is probably the major cause, its gotten colder but very little rain around here.To bad the beach along the park is not a center for large crowds, it never was since 1940,it was practically closed half its entire time when opened to flooods and the water being unsuited to swim or even touch. Its almost empty of anything worth digging. The place I want to go is on the otherside, the little beachy cove just before the Raison River outlet. There was a resort there from the late 1870s to about 1925.They had a Hotel, Bathhouse,Casino etc, etc.plus the large Lake Passenger Ships that docked right there. I walked out all the way along that demolished breakwater and you can still see most of the original beach and what looks like some pieces of lumber laying on the beach that used to be part of the hotel and bathhouse.
