My buddy and I hit an old inner city park this morning and while clad and cents were fairly abundant, older coins and good jewelry was scarce. We both had afternoon things to do so we decided 11a would be our quitting time. A few minutes before 11 I started swinging my way back to my SUV. About 100' form my vehicle I got a nice sweet sounding hit that was reading 91-92. I dug and popped the 1940 Washington quarter from about 4." I glanced at my watch and noted the time was 10:58. Hence, I dubbed that recovery "the two minute Washington." It probably should be called the 17 minute quarter, as I did spend until 11:15 hunting around that area. All to no avail. Up to that point I did recover 4 wheat cents, 50 modern coins, a curio and plenty of good sounding trash. Omega with 10" DD coil and running 99 sen, disc1, d3 tones and g b was 60-63. HH jim tn
