the ULTIMATE treasure hunt-And,a moral issue;as well....

I watched a show on National Geographic called "Titanic Revealed"-the story of Robert Ballard and how he found her...It explains how he wants the site to remain a memorial;while there have been other entities picking up items from the debris fields;and placing them in traveling for-profit museums...There was another man explaining how all the first-class pasengers' belonings are still down there-some had "all their wealth in the world"in them trunks-The footage showed some of them trunks laying on the bottom,untouched...along with "hundreds of cases"of top-shelf champagne and fine wines-With the corks and seals still on them;just laying there on the bottom...This man went on to say they are afraid greed will get the best of some of these organizations;and with the money and resources at their disposal;they will descend and tear the Titanic apart looking for all these hidden riches that could be worth;in his words-"IN THE BILLIONS"..It was said that the traveling museum of Titanic memoribilia has around 600 items in it;and is valued "in excess of 70 million"...WOW.....

I need to dig up a treasure like that! :)

a pirate ship in the back yard would be cool! :)

That is an nteresting post, Warthog.......yes, it sure is a moral dilemma.

The pic of the pendant that I posted recently reminds me of the jewelry that might have been worn by women who sailed on that ship.

The Titanic event was a horrendous tragedy!

..of man's arrogance...It talked about there has also been sales of items found that were floating on the surface-One object that made me wonder was a half of a life-jacket they had to cut off a corpse floating on the surface...Even if I had the means to go after it;the sight of them shoes are personal effects on the bottom would haunt me for a GOOD LONG time:unsure:...
