Thanks for the post, Martin! The cleansing ritual was like a form of quarantine and, the Lepers were quarantined, so that others would stay away from them until they were pronounced clean! For many, many years there was quarantine for different diseases like the German Measles, polio, diptheria and TB, but our gov't has chosen not to quarantine anything any more that is deadly and could & does spread throughout the lands and across the seas......by ships, air travel and etc. The reason that AIDS is so rampant among the people in most or all nations because the drs are not allowed to inform anyone about this terrible disease that is easily spread through sexual and blood contact, while the gov't forces sex education ( that it is okay to have sex with another male or female and without the benefits of a marriage between a man and a woman) in our schools and condemns those who teach abstenance and moral living which helps prevent many diseases and unwanted children!
The Old Testament had the laws to live under for the protection of many while today we have moral laws through the virgin birth, death and resurrection of a Living Savior, which would prevent the spreading of terrible diseases (when those contaminated would be isolated until they were well, and does for those who heed God's Spiritual Laws written in His Holy Book, the Bible!) It is the selfish and unwise who do not want God or HIs beloved Son, Jesus, to warn them or direct and guide them in the right direction in which they should go, but instead serve satan and His evilness, who has come to kill, steal and destroy as many human-beings as possible by having lied and deceived both Adam and Eve and then corrupted the whole world by his sly and wily lies and half-truths......that our own Gov't is feeding us now with too many following after the greed and deceivement of their ungodly ways. They are calling evil, good, and good, evil, .....just as the Bible says would happen and is happening!
Let us pray that God will have mercy upon His own, the citizens of America and America as our nation! Pray for our leaders that their hearts would be changed, with godly minds and saved souls before it is too late! Amen!
