the value of old artifacts

Just wanted to say I've been detecting for about 20 years. I have found some civil war and stuff in the 20 and 30's like 2 cannon ball, 3 ringer bullet, old marbles, hood ornament off old cars and a lot of other stuff like that. A few years ago I tried sale all the stuff. I live in South East Texas and you can't give it away here . So I took it out in the woods and buried the stuff. All hunt for now is gold or silver.

Too bad, you seem to take a more mercenary approach to the hobby than many but if that's what you want to do that is fine.
You might not sell things like that locally but people do spend money on that stuff.
One member here or on another forum just got several hundred dollars for an old Harley bike emblem from a collector and civil war sites sell that other stuff all the time online.

I don't have many relics but I have a few, they look great on display and they will never be buried again as long as I am around.
