Here's the clad I got. Using the audio combined with the pixals shown on the horizontal bar graph makes picking up clad coins a simple task. I was hunting with zero discrimination with a single frequency of 25K.

I got 4 rings in August, my best month.

My wife and I spent a few days in the mountains. Here's my gold I got panning on the Fraser River.

Outstanding and some fine gold gold!!

I'm still new to this hobby but that dude on youtube says Vortex doesn't work... He's too funny. I know it's not perfect but that dude harps on Garrett every chance he gets. Probably pissed that Garrett wouldn't sponser him or something.

He says whatever he wants to say and some of that helps grow his YouTube channel. Unfortunately a lot of what he says about the Vortex software issues is true. There have been a lot of updates both to add good features but also to fix many bugs and software programming mistakes. Basically, if you have only used previous Garrett VLF detectors, the Vortex series is a big improvement both in features, performance and ergonomics. Unlike your statement above, the Vortex works really well. I have owned or used all three AT series Garretts, the Ace Apex and the original Ace series detectors. Vortex beats them easily. However, if you have used other manufacturer recently released simultaneous multi frequency detectors that have lower, similar or higher prices, the Vortex just doesn't quite stack up well against them. I like the Vortex models and I am glad that Garrett has finally made a competitive, modern featured, simultaneous multi frequency/selectable single frequency detector but the Vortex as it is right now has a ways to go yet to out perform its direct competition. My feedback is from direct personal experience and not from any other source.

Loren Lemke is saying (basically) the same words about the Vortex as CD is (and now Jeff).
