Went back to the county Fairgrounds today, in the area where I found the 1920 Merc last Sunday. This time accompanied by my son and his BH Fast Tracker. After about an hour, he comes TEARING towards me shouting "I found GOLD Dad!!!"...in his hand was a nice 10K gold wedding band. He showed me the hole, where it was under a large rock about 10" deep. He said it was a real faint signal, and broken. He was SOOO thrilled.
About a half hour later, and 100yds away, my ACE got what sounded like a solid nickle signal at 4". On pinpoint, it was kinda raspy...lo and behold, out emerged another wedding band...this one 14K!...then I found nearby a .925 Dolphin.
It was real windy and chilly, so we left and ate lunch. We then went to an old park (1920s) in my hometown. I had been there before and found nothing but clad. We went way in the back into the detritious and trees bordering private property. I pulled a 1942 Wheatie, and then dug a REAL strong signal at 6" that pinpointed too large for a coin, but I dug anyways. It turned out to be a VERY old copper ashtray. On the inside is a relief of a man and woman walking. The much taller woman appears to be saying "OH!"..the man's words I cannot read.
When you turn it over, you can clearly see that his hand is WAY up her skirt and bragging her butt....I have no idea the age of this item, but(t) it appears very very old...hope you enjoy the pics.
