In chapter six (6), When Jesus Asks You Not to Worry, there's a remarkable statement I'd like to share with you all.

John 8:12 "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life."

Faith Over Comes Fear

"During a Bible study, one of my parishioners commented on the disciples. "They actually lived with Jesus, knew him personally, heard him speak. Yet still, they constantly misunderstood him. Their faith was so small. You'd think you'd stay on your toes, if you were hanging out with Jesus!"

Freedom From Fear

Perhaps the disciples are a gift to us because we can identify with them when they did not understand the meaning of Jesus' words. We'd prefer to ignore certain passages of Scripture because the words are just too difficult to put into action. Like the disciples, we have moments when we lack faith. If we had been "hanging out with Jesus," we, too, probably would have been terrified to see the risen Christ come into the locked room where we were hiding out".

When I look back, at my life, I can help but ask myself if I've truly been "hanging out with Jesus" or if I've simply been going through the motions. "You'd think you'd stay on your toes, if you were hanging out with Jesus!" Are you "hanging out with Jesus" or are you simply going through the motions?

I imagine it was a big shock when a supposedly dead Jesus walked through that locked door. Those men needed that jolt of faith as do lots of others but looked what they accomplished after that with no fear whatever. Great post
