the yard is still full

It's a coat of Arms, possibly a wall plaque, but I'm not sure who it represents. It may be the Flower family, although I didn't see any with the same flower design. http://www.houseofnames.com/flower-coat-of-arms

Thanks for the link Aaron!! , I'll do more looking.
It's heavy, 4" h x 3 1/4" w and has three holes with rivets still in them..?

Well it turns out this is gilded in gold. The three rivets are copper.
As for what this goes to, I'm still clueless. Could it be off of furnature?, like at the top of a fancy mirror.
The round hole at the bottom has me thinking something was hung on it maybe.
either way it's fun doing research!

I originally thought it might be a trivet like to rest a hot cook pot on but the more I look at it and being it represents somebodys coat of arms and that its brass and gold gilted I would suspect it may have hung on the front of someones house as a form of id..its just a guess as ive seen some in fancier homes in historic areas sometimes have a coat of arms on the fronts of their homes.. very cool find either way...

That is one sweet find. Maybe it was on a front entrance gate where the carriage entered, like a driveway gate..or just a man gate.

Maybe a ring was attached to the bottom hole and it was part of a door knocker.

Thanks guys,
I too was thinking door knocker or gate, I just find it hard to believe it would have been left outside.
The back has 2 digit stamp in it, what looks like a capital I, and a 2. I don't know much about brass stampings though.

well after contacting a guy from Heraldica dot com, and the college of arms, as well as several antique and auction people I still have no idea what
this item is 'off of ', looked for a month on google, and can't find anything simular to it's shape and design (meaning oval with rivet holes and bottom center hole.
I'm fully at a loss for ideas!!
I'm hoping to put in up on the U'ther'K'ids' forum for more clues...

I hope to explain properly.
I really also like a family crest. But I think if it had been put in a door or facade of a house would have been in place with screws or nails. If you do not you would be put rivets in something metal like a car door or carriage horses? Just to add another idea ...
Greetings and good luck
