There may be times when we forget the versatility of the F75LTD or we get stuck in the rut of only using one process and tone options.

Just a reminder that the F75LTD has many ways to "skin the cat" so to speak.

Seven (7) processes and eleven (11) audio options give a lot of versatility.

I hunt the same newer parks over and over, mainly for fresh drops. I get a lot of clad and that is just fine with me. I am 67 and have back problems and have had one operation and have 4 ruptured discs. I hunt no longer than around three hours any more but try to get out two to three days a week. I have had my Original F75 since 2008 and had the upgrade done the first time offered. Having said this, I set up my F75 for ME. I do not dig all signals. I hunt in extremely nasty parks and if I was to dig all signals, I would only come home with junk and lots of it. I set my F75 up and use disc so as not to dig the junk. I KNOW and accept the notion that by not digging the junk that I do miss the gold. However, if I dig 4000 pieces of trash and one thin gold ring, I have spent a lot of time digging trash and the small gold ring is not a lot of value. By disc out the trash, I can dig 4000 targets and most will be coins and my way of thinking, I will come out way ahead by passing the gold and junk. I live in a newer part of the country as far as civilization goes. Nearly all of our towns are from the 1910's and newer. There were a couple of skirmished down here but they are all on Federal land and off limits to detecting. 90% of the land is in private hands and there were no houses on the land anyway. he 'old' parts of our city have the original buildings on them, all concrete and pavement and are still in use. No old houses to ask permission. Our schools are fenced and locked. That leaves the parks, which are all fairly new. Here is the way I set up the F75 for the way the I hunt.
Sens:90 (sometimes clear to 99)
Disc: 0
Notch: I notch out from iron all the way through zinc and leave the whole nickel segment accepted.
# of tones: 2l, 2h or 3 (l kike to change these around for different parks)
Process: FA (coins are shallow but trash abounds and FA mode is so fast that it really does unmask coins
I will do an auto GB before each hunt. Our ground is mild and consistent.
I will do a factory reset every 2nd or 3rd time out.

If I hunted older parks, I would certainly set up the F75 differently and also would if relic hunting. The beauty of the F75 is the ability to set it up for just about any type of hunting conditions one could encounter.

I found a great new setting I read about. Set the Discrimination on 6. Do all other settings how U want. I was using the Tornado and big coil in open area. THe detector would show iron at 4 and 5. It would sound off solid at 6 some time. However, I t allowed me to see and hear all the iron and not dig it. I did dig maybe 2 pieces of iron but they were big. I think setting Disc on 6 is my new favorite. I was running BP at max sen. No EMI around.

My favorite combination is Boost Process and 4H tones for old coin hunting, though I do enjoy changing my settings from time to time.

My next few outings I'm going to try Delta Pitch and see if I can get a better handle on it. I've used it some before in FA mode with a very high Disc setting and got some shallow coins out of a very trashy site, but never got too comfortable with it.

I definitely like trying various setting combinations much more than just a turn on and go machine where you have very few options. One of the reasons I love the F75 (and it's cousins).

This is a good reminder Mike and not just for F75 owners. More and more detectors are coming out with multiple hunting modes with multiple audio options allowing for LOTS of possibilities; many detectors behind one screen. Even different coils can give a detector a very different personality.

Disc at 6 or 7 which depends on the type of iron being encountered, is the sweet spot for hunting in iron and using 1 tone. Makes it a sweet beep dig machine.

Oh yea I forgot the 1 tone. U need to use it with the setting of 6 Discrimination.

In nails beds I like the 5 inch round coil using FA mode with 2L or 1N tones with the audio pitch turn up to +9 so the non ferrous targets really pop out, and sensitivity to where I can stand it (FA can be very sparky). No disc, No notch

In moderate trash I like the NEL sharpshooter coil in JE mode, sometimes in BP mode (if not to trashy), 2F, 2H or 2L tones audio pitch +9, sensitivity as high as it can go and be stable. No Disc, No notch

On relatively clean ground I use either the stock coil or the NEL Tornado in BP mode for old coins or JE mode for possible gold or small targets, maybe 4H tones or 3 tones or 2F, H or 2L. Sens cranked to where it's still stable. No disc, No notch.

Been thinking about getting the 10" concentric coil also.

I also mess around with AM too, it's nice in moderate to low trash and gives nice audio feel to targets.

Different coils can make it a different machine every time.

Good post Mike!

I'm a bit guilty of going full out balls to the wall NASA Tom style every time I use my F75 LTD, and frequently have BP with 1 disc, 99 sensitivity and 3H tones as my "locked in" settings.

I've tried quite a few of the other options, and it seems for my old sites my settings above are the most productive, but depending on the ground conditions and amount of iron I have found that
FA mode, and even DE modes can work pretty well too.

I dug a 10" deep bust half dollar in a thick bed of nails 1840's adobe site that had been previously pounded by Minelabs, Blisstool, F75, and even a DeepTech Vista, and that was in BP mode.
