PS thanks for the Velcro idea

Went to wallmart site and looked at them.Would like to hear more about them when you get a chance to really try them for a while. Seems like a great headphone for that price.

I have the same set up for 3 years and they work very good. Head phones are very comfortable and the sound is great. It takes a little fudging around to tune it but if you follow the directions it's not a big deal. The only thing I run into every once in a while is when I get near to some over head power lines the receiver might be cancelled out and switch to a local FM radio station. I don't think it as a big deal I just have to re-tune and I'm all set. Not that it means anything much but I think the usable distance from the transmitter to the head set is about 12 feet or so. I think you will be pleased.

Well,ya'll talked me into it. Just ordered may HO900 wireless headphones from walmart.com. $19.98 plus 97 cents shipping and $1.99 tn sales tax, makes a whopping $22.94. Not bad, especially if they work as well as you say.

They work great i went out a bit yesterday and
threw coins into snow piles on the street ok im DESPERATE to dig!!

But i also found a few current coins that must have been scrapped up
with the snow.. i think im gonna really enjoy these headhones

More info as it warms up Maybe July

I am not much of a Wal-Mart fan, but these things really work well. Showed them to a couple of my older buddies, who are getting a little hard of hearing, and they each ordered a set to actually use as intended, to listen to TV without running everyone else out of the house. They each had tried other wireless headphones, but were never really satisfied with them. They were either noisy, uncomfortable, or short ranged, not to mention they cost more. These are none of those things. As for me, I tried them on my GTI 1500 and my Ace 250 and I was impressed with the sound quality and ease of use! Now I am working on attaching the transmitter to the detector. Sorry for sounding like a commercial for these headphones, but for 20 bucks, I think they will be hard to beat. Have to wait and see how hard they are on batteries.

I vlecroed Mine to the arm rest on the 1500

Seems to work fine and as far as range
its no further than the detector will be
when im using it..

I bought 1 ft of 3/4" roll plastic for 25 cents, 2 #8X1/4 wood screws for 6 cents each and picked up a wooden paint stirrer for free at the local hardware. Here is the result:
Nothing is glued or taped on, just clipped on by the clips made from the roll plastic. One note about using the HO900 headphones with the 250. The volume will be low even with the headphones turned all the way up. The 250 really needs an inline volume control to adjust the audio coming from the 250 down to a level that the headphones were designed to operate with. The volume is plenty loud on the GTI 1500, since it has a volume control and it is turned down.

I got mine and I set them up and tried them out and theh worked great until I threw down a quarter. When the belltone sounded the headphones locked onto some radio station! So turned them off and tried it again with the same results.

If you are using these on a detector with threshold audio such as a GTI1500, you need to adjust your volume control for the "belltone" down closer to the same level as the threshold. If you don't, when that stronger belltone audio starts, it overloads the headphone transmitter and it goes into a static sound until you turn them off and back on. I adjusted my 1500 by using my wired headphones turn all the way up, then adjusted the threshold to a level I liked, then the detection audio up a bit louder and then hooked the wireless headphones up and they worked just fine. They were louder than the level I had set with the wired headphones. I had to lower the volume on them.

Far from a commercial to me buddy. I like to know about something that works well. I just got a set of Garrett Sound Master headphones and my initial impression isn't that favourable. This isn't totaly fair though as I've only messed with them a few times and have no field use yet.

I also have the Garrett Headphones and I have not had a problem with them. Actually I think they work great on my GTP. I tried adjusting my tone ID and my Volume and Threshold and they still hit the belltone and go to static and some radio channel. When I get out I will try them out in the parks and see if it's too much radio waves in and around my house close to the same frequency tht these operate on. I did plug them in on our TV in the bedroom and they worked great! I don't get it!:garrett:
