They were posting the lake while I was out in the water hunting today!

I have a bad feeling that this will be ruining our water hunting here. This is the 4th lake where they are scaring people to death about some green algae blooms. It is now in the newspapers and on TV. I was out this morning doing some pull tab hunting when the park host put some little signs up around the parking area of this Corps Of Engineers swim beach. He didn't bother telling me anything about the signs. I saw them when I got out of the water. I did have a very successful pull tab hunt though. I found lots and lots of pull tabs, even an old silver ring, and $2.60 in new coins. I was hunting with my refurbished AT Pro Demo and I used a 6.5" x 9" coil. The ring was pretty black and cleaned up pretty good after I ran it through my home made electrolysis.
I hope I don't turn into a Green Algae Creature!

I noticed in yor post that you have an excal. Do you water hunt more with it than your Pro?

I want to purchase a beach hunting machine. Would you recommend the excel or some other machine.

How does the pro do for you in water as compared to the excel?

Nice finds in the algea!

We get that in our small local lake every year. They rope off the swimming area and its off limits. They say the alge will give you an awful rash that itches like crazy. Fishing is still alowed and you can only eat the fish if they are filleted and wash real good in faucet water. Not supose to let your pets drink the water either.

Hey Chuck,

How to you like the 6.5X9 coil? I recently purchased one but have not put it on my Pro yet...Do you like it when hunting the beach areas where there is always three or four pieces of crap masking all the good targets?

[size=large]that ring sure did clean up nice. i'm surprized you didn't mistake it for a chunk of bailing wire and throw it away.

This season I have been water hunting with both the Excal and AT about the same. I love the AT when I can see the VDI numbers in the water, the depth meter, and how really sensitive it is to small items. I like the sounds of my Excal better and the fact that this is my fourth season out with it.

The number one beach hunting detector of choice by beach hunters is the Sov GT. I have sold many of them to people on the East Coast, West Coast, Florida, and on the Gulf Coast.
