Thinking about a T2 or a GTI 1500 what do you think

Tom E IL

New member
I am thinking about a T2 or the GTI 1500, I do mostly coin shooting. I work out of town and will not be home till the end of May so would like to know of a dealer in MI for the T2. Was at Cabelas last week and the T2 they have is in the white box, I remember reading something about the white box T2's. I will need to go to a dealer to get either one; most places will only ship to home address.
Thanks for any info
Tom Spencer

Fact...The GTI 1500 is a great machine. And man I'd hate to tell you wrong. I have The GTI 2500 it has similar features to the GTI 1500 your interested in,plus some extra bells... and seriously I am torn between the two machines. I bought the T2 from a well known distributor I won't mention any names here....

But Jeff from Middlesex Detector Sales has been a really great support team. From Purchase to service I doupt that the Garrett dealer I bought from could match or come close to offering the service and help that I recieved from Jeff. Now with that out of the way....

Again ...I like my Garrett 2500. It finds lots of stuff....and it speaks a language all it's own! I think the machine is a bit over priced for the features but I can't say that I don't really enjoy hunting with it, cause I really do enjoy it! However that said....

Check the weight of the GTI1500? The Garrett 2500 is way too heavy to swing all day unassisted. At times it was even a burden to hunt with. My wife would go all day! I'd need to quit after 2-3 hours to rest a worn out arm! hehehe

And if any of you have heavy detectors you know what I talking about! A man designed the swingy thing, it is great product. I have designed a (Over the Shoulder Detector Holder) at 1/2 the price plus shipping if your interested shoot me and email ...I'll send you some pics of the new patented design. And an explanation of how it works. No more hooks to tie you to the detector either. Great design!

Anyway...I'd really highly recommend the T2. However mine is out recieving the R6 revtek. It should return this week and if she's the same machine she was when she left for the Rev...she'd still be worth the purchase price. I can't say that about any detctor I've bought in the past. Most have all been over priced for the functions they perform. But the T2 has been exciting to use and learn. It puts the fun back into metal detecting for me, and thats why I like it so much!
Also keep your eyes and ears opened... I hear that George Pain the orginal old Tek guy is coming out with a new machine. If that's true I gotta test that one out too! I'm sure I'll own one!

Todays technology is amazing. And metal detecting has came a long way. These Teknetic guys and George Pain have kept up with changing times. No one knows more about the industry standards that the people who build the detectors. But these old timers are more special than the standard market sales detector Companies ....why? Because they eat, they sleep, and they dream of the detctors they build, and it's not all about taking your money, but it's more about the fun of the hobby, or sprt of the finds!

Now that's the rest of the story, and you heard it here first! Right here on the T2 Teky station FINDS109

The Tek awesome to hunt with. A very exciting machine to hunt with. And light...Oh Mercy...swing that puppy for days. Yet the guys at Teknetics made it very solid and expensive feeling. Yes sir...it's a winner alright, you don't have to worry about that.

In my humble opinion;

I honestly am not affliated with anyone here.
But I know
1.) Jeff is a great Dealer; his willingness to go above and beyond to help you enjoy this great hobby is astounding.
and 2.) That freakin Tek T2 is an awesome machine. Is the best one out there? Maybe:clapping:
But I can't run the GTI down or the Minelab either they are both great machines. :twodetecting:But oh so heavy!:sadwalk: And they are not good for Competition Hunts either.:sadwalk: The Tek T2 is going to do great I think in Competition Fields also.
And oh yea....this is important...when you take it out for the first time don't tell your wife you'll be right back you just want to see something for a minute. If you do that have a key to the dog house! hehehehe

If I were you the first time out I'd try to hunt in all metal mode sens on 40% and no discrim then dig everything for a while till you get to know what the machines language is ...then look put world...hehehe

One last thing...I'll be looking forward to that first ring...Just send it to
