THINKING ABOUT BUYING SAND SHARK

I have a Sand Shark with both the 8 inch and 10.5 inch round coils. The 10.5 inch coil stays on it. It balances well over ground and in the water and makes swinging it easy. I only use it at the beach and pretty much stay in the wet sand and water with the Sand Shark.

It is easy to set up and works well. It is stable when salt water waves wash over it and over the ugly black sand.

The more time I spend with it the deeper I'm digging. The threshold is not absolutely smooth but warbles a bit, so it takes a little bit of listening to get used to what is normal variation and what is deeper or smaller metal in the ground. It gives a tell tale double blip on hair pins, but I also got that double blip on a silver chain.

I have collected a fair amount of change at the beach with the Sand Shark. Have gotten some silver jewelry and a couple of junk rings. Have not yet recovered gold with it. But then I am on a dry streak with gold at the moment ... and not just with the Sand Shark. I've been digging nickles and foil with it so it is just a matter of putting the coil over the right target.

I'd like to try other PI detectors to have a comparison point, but the Sand Shark has convinced me that I want to keep at least one PI detector in the lineup for salt water beach use.
