thinking about upgrading to the e-trac from my White's M6

I've been researching a detector upgrade from my M6, and the e-trac seems to be the right unit for my detecting goals.

My only unanswered question is about quality. How would you grade Minelabs' overall build-quality and durability?

Thanks.

I have several hundred hours on my E-Trac and it is still as good as new with no quality issues. It is also built quite sturdy in my opinion,Ray.

Love the machine but I really think the rubber battery cover is a little cheezy for a top of the line machine, but its a coin finding dog cant go wrong..

Yeah, me too ash, I thought at least a hard plastic cover with a hinge and spring clip!! But they are easy to replace, I guess.

Myself I like the rubber cover as it seals out dirt and moister better and easy to use. Not seen one break or wear out on any of the Explorers around here.

Aside from the rubber battery cover, how is the build quality after months of use?

BUILT LIKE A TANK IN THE WORLD OF DETECTORS AND THE BATTERY COVER IS VERY GOOD BUT DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER MACHINES, BUT NO LESS EFFECTIVE.

A whole lota money went in to the design and building of the E-Trac. Not one fault that I know of, including the rubber battery door.
