Boy,
I was hoping for a couple more weeks of detectable weather, but this may be it. Got 4-5 inches of snow last night and the ground was almost frozen already. Supposed to warm up to mid 40s this weekend so may still have a chance.
I did get out and swing in the snow. Detected until I couldn't bend my fingers. Did not dig alot of iffy signals. I ended up with an eliptical coil, snow was sticky enough to form 3-4 inch extensions on either side of the coil. And... It was real easy to see what ground you had covered. Wish I had the camera along.
Did manage to fill yet another hole in the wheatie collection, a 1938-S. Thats three new ones in a couple weeks. Only had 8 new total since getting the explorer, so three in that short of period is pretty unusual.
And it looks like the last coin dug for 2004 was this. All in all not a bad year. Perhaps I'll tumble me some nickels and clad tonight.
Chris
