As soon as the winter leave way for spring I know this year going to be the year of silver.Fantastic finds are out there, buried and waiting.
Last year was a fantastic year with great hunting.Sometimes up to 12 hours in a row.
Corfe Castle rally was like that.Went up at 8 am and still up there on the hills at 8pm.Just rolled down the hill for some curry and a bed,man did I have a good night sleep those days.

My first hammered coin was huge and also deep in a tree rot..

Looking forward to this years rally in Corfe.

Absolutely Awesome, Look forward to posts and a reminder, you are fortunate and any and all finds would be appreciated as this would be a dream hunt for most of us. Please keep posting EOS as they are appreciated.

Thank you,

Love that coin!!! Hoping year of silver for me as well! Year 2 with E-trac and learning tons from everyone here! Thanks! PS how old is that coin? does it say 1569? Unbelievable!!

Thanks guys!!

Yes that is a Lizzie sixpence 1569.
Cant wait for the E-trac.Talked to Bart at BigBoys Hobbies yesterday and you sure do have good prices over there. E-trac in Sweden is over 2500$

For them who have not seen the video ,unearthing this beauty...here it comes http://youtu.be/JRRm0SODT6w

Hey Dale!

Are going for some rallies in UK??
Im want to search the Norfolk/Norwich area and looking for rallies there.
Well anywhere in England is fine but that area have a lot of gold. One day I will hit that hoard, good for me,landowner, and museum...

Image:Henry the 8th ca 1530 littie..very small hammered. Found in Bedford Rally UK 2011,not cleaned yet though..

Hi Mike! Actually I hunt in Essex with a group of guy's who go there in the Spring & Fall. It's totally awesome! We hunt leased land.
Last Spring among my find's was a seldom found bronze "unit" (coin) that dated to about 35 A.D. It is really tiny...about the same size as a pea!
No gold for me yet......but it will come!!
Dale

Congrats on your Beautiful Large Silver Hammered Coin

Last year I visited St. Albans, England on a MD trip

I believe detecting in England is like Disney for MDers :twodetecting:

I am including Photo's of a Silver Hammered Elizabeth I Three Farthings that was found

The other Photo includes a Roman Coin, George II Farthing and 1645 Edward III Civil War Farthing.

Cracking find!! They are so nice. Yes your right about UK being a disneyland for MD:rs...
Your roman coins looks fine,in better condition then mine.Had 7 roman in various size, bronze only, but then again
finding such old relics is truly amazing.

And Dale,Essex must be a great area to hunt in. Have you posted some of your finds??

Mike

Mike, I have not posted my find's.....in the near future I'll try to get some pictures uploaded.
By the way......I should have said that 35 A.D. "bronze unit" is Celtic, not Roman.
