Probably need to dub this spot the quarter field. Besides numerous clad quarters, the field has now yielded me 6 silver Washington's in the past month between the Omega and LTD. Hit the field before the sun had peaked over the tree line on the east end of the field. Had a 11a car service appointment, so headed out a bit earlier then is usually the norm. This morning I started my hunt on the other side of the culvert and gridded my way out from a ditch. Just like yesterday, after two hour of swinging I hadn't put a keeper target in my pouch. I had dug 2 really deep rusty nails, just to be on the safe side, and 4 or 5 tab rings and tails. Finally, 1 of the nickel/tab readings produced the 43s war nickel. All wasn't going to be a total bust. A few minutes later I dug another nickel and a few feet away got a high tone hit with numbers from in the 70's to 84-86. Played with the signal(s) a bit and kept getting a bounce up to 84-86 and decided to go for it. I apparently pin pointed the electrical wire connecter as that was the first target I located in the dirt clod. Re-scanned the dirt and hole and got a sweet sounding high tone over the hole. Went after it with the Pro pin pointer and found the 43 Washington quarter off to the side of the hole right at the bottom. After digging a Memorial cent a little bit later, I called it a day. Not many targets now coming to light, but the "quarter field" apparently still harbors a few keepers. F 75 LTD with 11dd coil, 80 sen, disc 4, 4h tones, b p mode and g b 66 with 3 feo bars. HH jim tn
