This mornings hunt!

Yes it was, down right meager! In fact, take the 46 Rosie out of the picture and save for 2 tab rings and a small rolled up piece of wire, that would have been it for 3 hours of hunting. I was sniffing my way back to my Ford Freestyle when I got the Rosie. Typically, I probably wouldn't have posted about today's hunt, but Zeekey in his recent post got me to thinking about those that may be new to our hobby thinking that some of us hit the good stuff on a regular bases. Which, is far from the fact. Oh, there is silver coins and other goodies still out there, but very few of us recover it on a daily bases. I don't, anyway. I was swinging the F 75 LTD and working some of the trashier places with the 5" dd coil, sen 85, disc 4, 4h tones, B P mode and g b of 67. Man, is it hot and tough digging. HH jim tn

Yep, that is the truth. Thanks for posting. I did three hours the other night in rock hard ground and dug one penny. I dug it early in the hunt and never got anything worth mentioning.

Jim you ain't lying man. Arkansas went from " oh its warm but there is a breeze and clouds " to out right ugly hot. Ground is so hard right now its trying to blister me if I do any serious digging.

But for any newer detectorist reading this. Want to ever see my dug junk finds that haven't made it into the trash can yet, let me know and I'll take a pic or two of the back of my Jeeps cargo area. Lol, gotta dig to make the finds. And I'm not shy about digging

Another really good hunt Jim you have some neat finds. When I find a wheat penny I think it has been a good hunt. I think all of us have been out there for hours and at the end of the day there is 3 coins in the pouch. And most of the time it is 2 or 3 eaten up zinc's. That can't even be spent. Thanks for the help in showing the newer guys that it just isn't a walk in the park to pick up some really nice finds. Some times it is many, many, many walks in the park before some silver/gold/jewelry/coins shows up. Good hunt......Z

A piece of silver always makes a hunt for me, but I love the challenge of doing so. Reality check this morning. Short two hour hunt produced a clad quarter, 2 high tone Memorials and a 58d wheat. Oh, and some trash. Got a couple of nice sounding deep hits, but with the hard ground am saving them for better digging times. This is truly a great hobby whether one is stabbing clad, going for old coins or pursues relics. It is all in the chase. HH jim tn

Have been out the past two mornings for a couple of hours, but can only dig where grass is thick. I can get down through the grass/weeds root system, but then run into concrete. Even for a die hard like me, to hot and tough digging. Thanks and hope some of you are able to get out and do some silver saving. HH jim tn

Sunday was the last time I got out for more than a couple minutes and I found one unhatched duck egg, one dead bat, a buck in clad and a reign guide from an old buggy or sleigh. Cannot begin to weigh the rusty iron at that spot. It was an old riverside clammer shack dumpsite. A ton of old mussel shells and junk everywhere. Very hard picking through for no big return. That's not an unusual day for me and one more reason I call myself Nobody Else.

Because Nobody Else would see that spot and want to poke around in, let alone dive with both hands. Looks like you had a good hunt!
