In the Tallahassee Democrat

Obama's health care policy will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it, signed by a President that smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a government that is nearly broke. What could possibly go wrong?
 
Par for the course for our current government. Every step of every day, they take us closer to becoming a has been nation. The United States is not mentioned in Bible prophecy. Obama and his cohorts are pushing us full steam in that direction. I thank God I had the sense not to vote for him. Alot of people listened to the sugar and voted for him. All he is interested in is making the headlines and looking good on TV. Having a beer or beers with a group for all of us to see is not a good example for a president to show.
 
On the contray DK, the U.S. 'is' mentioned in Bible prophecy, in the book of Revelations, in the ends times. It just doesn't specify the words 'The United States of America'.
 
I guess we must agree to disagree. I am not saying that the US is totally obliterated, I just do not see our nation mentioned either by name or by a reference that can definitely be attributed to talking about our country. Please enlighten me to where in Revelation we are mentioned so I can look at it and research it. I am not trying to be argumentative, only want to be correct in my facts. We must be very careful how we interpret Bible prophecy. I know there are many of us on this forum from different denominations and we sometimes interpret the Bible a little differently, and that is okay. We can all take some verses and get a different meaning out of it. I personally don't want to tell someone something that I cannot back up by clear Bible teaching, something I can show in print. That is why I have trouble accepting some of the Bible translations out there. Some of them take away from the original writing of either Hebrew or Greek and make it fit their viewpoint.

Dk I can't find where it talks about the USA in in the bible . Some people say when it mention a great eagle this is the USA . But I don't think it can be prov-en except though the teaching of ones denomination--- Graw

Here's the reference you'll need for proof that the U.S. is in Bible prophecy. There's only one county in the entire world that could possibly qualify to be the 2nd beast power, that came up out of the earth like a lamb and that's the United States. I prayerfully hope this answers your questions on this matter. It was Jesus, who said, "...you will know the truth and it will set you free...". Knowing the truth can also prepare you for what is to come in Bible prophecy.

I'm not attacking your beliefs in any way and I under stand your view from the site you posted and your teaching . But using the word in Greek or Hebrew You can not place the USA in the bible and as you say the truth will set us free . -- Graw
 
Thanks for the input Graw. I too do not want to attack any persons chosen denomination. As I mentioned in my post, we all can look at any verse of scripture and draw a fast interpretation. In studying the Bible, we MUST do more than just read the verse. We must study it and study it. I am glad you mentioned the Hebrew and the Greek. Anytime we study Gods' word, to get the true meaning that God intended, we must see what the verse or words mean in their original writing. There are many different versions of the Bible out there and we must be careful on which one we use, as many leave out words that God intended to be there. I use the KJV simply because I like the challenge of trying to understand it. I am not saying it is the only version approved by God, but in my studies, it comes the closest to using the original interpretation but in old English. Now we all know most of us don't talk like that anymore, but again the challenge is there for me.
In my studies of Revelation, more specifically Chapter 13, I like you, cannot see how anyone can back up claiming that the second beast is the United States. The original writing and the chapters and verses before and after do not support that view. satan does try and copy the teaching of the Trinity. As we have God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, satan uses himself, the anti-Christ, and the false prophet as his trinity. Again, I know not all denominations believe in the Trinity, and I am not trying to push my view on anyone. I simply state that we must be very, very careful how we interpret the Bible, how we pass that interpretation on to others, and we must be able to back up our teachings based on the original writings of Gods' word. Even when my pastor preaches a message, I don't always take it as being correct. I weigh all I hear and read about God, no matter the source, with the Bible on the other side of the scale. We are all from one denomination or another, and no matter what one we choose, we must make sure they are teaching us the truth. God Himself warns us about spreading false doctrine.

Amen, Semperfi61 and Graw. We must pray for the lost and be ready when the rapture comes. I would not want to be around when the anti-Christ rules and brings his destruction upon those who are left behind.

Very interesting, but ............. I personally consider Hal Lindsey to be one of the most "Revelations" savy guy out there and he has said that in his opinion there is no mention of the United States or a Great Western Power of any kind. Why? He surmised there are three possibilities: #1 We no longer exist, #2 We still exist as a superpower but choose not to get involved, and #3. We exist but are no longer a superpower with any major influence in the world and thus are not a player.

Personally, I can envision #1 and #3 as distinct possibilities, ............. I doubt #2, .........if we were still a superpower we would involve ourselves.

Bottom line, it really doesn't matter if there is implied US involvment or not. What is important is that Satan and all the countries of the world can do whatever they want, ..... but, ..................GOD is the one in control and it will be HIS victory and HIS son which will stand triumphant when all the dust settles, and nothing can change that. Praise GOD!
 
I wonder if the "Media" could be the 2nd Beast?

They certainly have the power to change history and influence millions, ............... if not billions?
 
Amen Zectron....your post is right on! I always liked to listen to Hal Lindsey and then TBN took him off of their channel and I haven't found him again! If he is on another TV or radio channel please let me know and the times! God is the Victor and is still in control and when nations come against Israel they will lose, for God will and does protect His own! Amen & Amen!

I think # one is probably what will happen to the US.....we will become a Communist &/or Islamic nation and will cease to exist as One Nation Under God but this is only my opinion! :angel: God Bless Betty

Hal Lindsey became very famous with his best selling book "THE LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH", but have you ever read any of his other books? Two which really impacted me as a young man 30 plus years ago, were "THERE IS A NEW WORLD COMING!" and "SATAN IS ALIVE AND WELL ON PLANET EARTH. Both of these books just grabbed me and taught me so much about the struggles on this planet that most people are totally unaware of. "SATAN IS ALIVE AND WELL ON PLANET EARTH" is a fantastic book which helps us to recognize and get to know our enemy, and any military tactician will tell you it is imperative that you know your enemy in order to effectively combat him. The book also teaches a great deal about Sin, what it is , why we do it, and most importantly, that as Christians our punishment and condemnation for it has already been paid. Praise GOD!

"THERE IS A NEW WORLD COMING!", is a great book of encouragement and victory. It is a very uplifting book which very plainly explains the whole chain of events which make up GOD's amazing plan of salvation for man, and most importantly the fantastic future we as Christians can look forward too because of the sacrifice made by Jesus on the cross.

One of the things I immediately respected about Hal Lindsey, and "THE LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH", was his admission that NO ONE knows for sure all the details of the book of Revelation, and his admission that the assumptions in his book were HIS interpretation of the signs, ........... and he could be wrong. There are many out there who have written books regarding the book of Revelation, but most try and convince you that their interpretation is correct and everyone else is wrong. Hal did not do that. He said "this is what I think based on this and that, you decide for yourself I am just sharing my interpretation.".

I liked and respected that a great deal.

I too only see him occasionally on Christian TV, if I find out when he is televised on a regular basis, I will PM you and let you know.

Thank you Zectron for the info on Hal Lindsey! I have never read his books but have heard a lot about them! I really enjoyed listening to him and had for many years until he was told to leave TBN, which I think was a shame! I don't read books written by other people or Christians very often, as I have the Bible and the Holy Spirit to lead me into the truth of what the Scriptures say! I know Jesus as my personal Savior and I know He is with me and will provide for and protect me, as long as I love, obey and serve Him in my mortal life and then eternal life which He has given me to be with Him forever and ever! :angel: God Bless!
