I got a call from dispatcher Wed night. said he had a really good run for me. Seattle WA.but had to be there fri evening by 7 pm. Bev and I picked up the load Thur morn and took off,,2,400 miles.Stopping only for gas we are 2 hours from Seattle and my contact person called and said If I don't have chains, I better pull over because the pass closed to all other vehicles. We spent the night in Yakami ( or something like that) and bought chains the next morning just in case we needed them. We made it with out any problems , off loaded, and headed back.
We drove about four hours and spent the night.. More snow ,, put snow chains on and took off. Up one mountain and down another. Five in the morning and i saw five vechicles in two hours. 30 miles an hour is really slow when you do it for three hours. The road got better, took off chains and on my way. Five hours later I am in a motel about 60 miles from Salt Lake City. Highway. 84 is closed and 86 might be in a couple hours..I was going to try to make it to 86, but Bev was in the fetal postion wimpering so I thougth spending the night in motel might be my best choice.
So , will try again in the morning.. and to make things worse, it is Sunday and the liquer stores are closed
will check with you guys tomorrow.
