Although its been hotter then hades here, I still try and make it a point to swing early mornings for 3 hours or so daily. My digging in the morning will consist of digging iris bulbs for our iris society sale we have coming up shortly. So, thought I would post up the best of my finds from this weeks hunts.

Everything here came from the Navy demoed housing site that just continues to give up a goodie here and there. These recoveries came Wed, Th and this morning.......along with 7 or 8 wheat cents and a few Memorials and clad. The 43d Washington quarter came this morning along with the 37 Buffalo and the Navy/Marines Eagle. Globe and Anchor device. Also got what might be a link to a bracelet that passes the silver test. No other parts to it anywhere near the spot. Got the 39d and 18 Mercs and 36 Buffalo yesterday and the 47 Rosie came Wed.

Yesterday I did swing the 5 x 10 dd coil. Otherwise, all my hunting has been with the 5" dd coil. 0 disc, I never use notch, mostly de mode and around 85 sen. Even with dry ground and de mode, am able to recover dime/penny size targets in the 6-7" depth range when I come upon one at that depth. Everyone have a great weekend. HH jim tn

Jim: Again some nice coins. Great detecting. Marine corps eagle, anchor and globe is for enlisted man's winter blouse for the collar. I think I can see Cuba on the globe? If no Cuba it is for an officer's winter blouse. I really don't care anymore that was 50+ years ago. Great hunting Jim......Z

Thanks, Z!. Under the 10x I believe I see Cuba, too. Thanks for the info and good hunting to ya. HH jim tn

Nice Jim-----How much deeper are the silver quarters compared to the dimes in the same areas?--------------IB

Actually, cents, nickels, dimes, quarters and halves are all about the same depth.....4-5" on this spot. HH jim tn

excellent coin counts for the area ........... I know it's been pounded.

Thanks Jim. My area seems to be void of silver quarters and halves. Just wondering if they maybe descend faster than dimes?

Lots of poverty here in early times, maybe people didn't have them to loose in the first place-------IB

Hey Taylor, how are you. Chris and I were wondering if you were here or already out west?

Yeah, except for the occasional hunt out there for more or less, old time sake, I had pretty much left it alone for near two years or so. Good targets aren't easy there anymore and meager numbers of coins per an outing, but for some reason of late it seems to have come alive a little. In fact, spent 1 1/2 hours out there just a while ago and my 1st target was a 39 Merc and promptly followed by a 16 wheat. Lot of masking there or else now many of the good targets are fairly deep. At least for small coils anyway.

Good luck and stay safe. HH jim tn
