...my grandfather did when we took a trip to the east coast back in 1978. He has painted most of his life and at 97 is still at it. He is presently working on a version of the Last Supper. I wish I had inherited some of his talent.

97 years old and still painting like that? God bless him!
 
It is. He paints with oil also, I have a couple of his oils hanging around, mostly still lifes.
 
My aunt attended college for two years and started painting at the age of 72. She really painted well and won prizes for them! Her husband was a full gospel preacher and they both have passed away on the same day exactly two years apart!
