[size=large]Finally got a chance to rent this movie. Here's the scenario plot; An unspecified cataclysm has brought an end to life as we know it. Either nuclear war, massive meteor strikes or some other cataclysmic occurrence. About 8 years after this event a father and his small son roam the barren wasteland in a southerly direction. Sunshine is a memory, long ago blotted out by a constant electromagnetic cloud cover. Cold temperatures are prevalent, hence their trek south. Pitifully unprepared, the father and son push a shopping cart loaded with a few meager belonging down "The Road". Armed with nothing but and old a hand-gun containing but 2 bullets. There are no animals, birds, trees, bushes... all died due to the lack of sunshine and global cooling. Huge trees continually crash to the ground in decay. Few humans even remain, most reduced to bans of marauding cannibals foraging and murdering to stay alive.
I would not by any means call this move "entertaining". Bleak, depressing, thought provoking and interesting I would call it however. It made me clutch my Beenie Weenies and ammo and be thankful my family is for now safe and sound. Worth a watch and then a trip to the store to stock up. Bubba I didn't see any gold.
