Three hunts this weekend:smile:

Great Republic

I managed to get out a couple of early mornings and one evening this weekend. Mercs are 39D,41D,36, and 41. Barber is 1902.
I finally found an IH. 1893. The ground is hard and dry here and I managed to gouge it good. It's funny cause most of that bunch of wheats were found in the same place and I didn't gouge them... well maybe one..
Also a Clown face token and a Conn. company bus token. a silver wire ring, kids religious ring, a silvery turn screw thingy, and a lead thing with an eye hook and the no.2 stamped in it. Plumb bob perhaps? Anyway Thanks for looking and GL to all...GR

Thanks DF. No I think that over the last few hunts that I got most of the wheats, other coins and junk out of there and now the goodies are popin out. Thanks again and best of luck.

Very nice variety there GR.:clapping: Glad that you were able to get out and from the looks of your finds it was a great day in my book. Good luck on your next outing and HH buddy.

Nice finds and an excellent silver to wheats ratio. That weight marked "2" may be a lead fishing weight (sinker) and the 2 may mean 2 ounces. Just a guess. You are doing great in this heat and humidity and lack of rain. HH

very nice GR! barber and an indian is always enough to make your day!

Great Finds you got there GR, I know what you mean about the hard, dry ground. It's very difficult to dig cleanly under these conditions.
I'm pretty sure that type of sinker is used for surf fishing but don't hold me to that. It is definitley a fishing sinker though.
Excelent silver count too!

Congrats:thumbup:on a superb weekend of detecting.

Eventually, IT WILL RAIN.

Nice finds GR! Hey, I use the one ounce pyramid sinkers for river fishing. The one ouncer is now about 65 cents, so I figure yours is worth a buck to someone. Nice silver and congrats on the IH. I really hate it when I gouge a coin. Sort of ruins the fun (for a while).
Take care and HH - BF
