THREE new X-TERRA coils from :coiltec:..........

Interesting that they are waterproof but for me they are too big. A nice elyptical 12 inch would be my choice.

How will the 18.75khz 15" coil handle highly mineralised soil conditions? I will be using it only in the gold fields of Western Australia until i come up with enough $$$ to fund a gpx. After that i will hand the xterra to my fiance to swing.
cheers, Robbo

Based on my testing procedures at a wide variety of sites, the HF All Terrain was able to "handle" the mineralization much better than the LF All Terrain. I had difficulty obtaining a positive offset with the LF All Terrain coil. However, the MF and HF coils had no difficulty in obtaining or maintaining the proper ground balance, or a running with a Tracking ground balance with a positive offset. Again, those results are based on my testing procedures here in the States. I'd suggest you contact the folks at Coiltek to learn more about the performance in the gold fields of Western OZ. JMHO HH Randy

thanks for the info Randy. I got in contact with Coiltek and a lad by the name of Trevor got back to me swiftly and restored my confidence in the xterra. In short Trevor recommended to slow the coil swing speed right down, reduce the sensitivity and learn to define "ground noise" and actual targets. He also recommended that if the ground gets to difficult for the 15" coil, simply swap back to the 10x5" elliptical coil for more stability.

Cheers, Keith

finally a 6" 3 khz coil and i sold the XT :sadwalk: got sick of waiting, good luck with the new coils guys sure they will be some fun.

I sent an e-mail a couple of weeks ago to Coiltec with no reply about their broken links on the U.S. dealers. My guess is there only worried about business in their own country.Today is the 29th and the only one selling the coils are in other countries for the X-Terra. Maybe I ought to change detector brands as well.If you can't get it you can't use it! JMO.

I have no idea what you're talking about. The link works just fine.

It's the individual Dealer links for the U.S. Half are broke or don't work.

The ones that are dark work. The ones that are light appear to have failed to renew their sites.
