Three Questions if you Please

It's been quite some time since I've been to the forums and I need some help.

I'm looking for answers from people who have used, are using and are really passionite about their water detectors. I'm in the market and really don't know what to buy. I've owned the Tesoro PIranha, but I sold it and am now looking for somthing I hope will be better. It must be a good detector that I can use in the sand and surf. I'm satisfied with going knee deep and finding what I can. If possible I don't want to pay a huge price for it as I can't afford to at this time. I will primarily be using it on the New England coast line.

Second - I'm looking for feed back from people who have used or know someone who has used COBRA and TRIDENT water detectors. How good are they and do they really find anything of value.

Third - Does anyone know what the status is of water detecting in Bermuda? Is it allowed or not?

Thanks for your help.

if you go cheap you'll miss alot of good loot...you'll have problems and just get pissed off.Do you want to find this:pulltab::rant:............................or this:hot: [attachment 58984 HPIM1421Large.JPG]

I bought a Aquavision Treasure Hunter off Ebay for $150. Its the same a the Viper by Trident. One frequency thats goes down maybe 2-3 inches. You pretty much have to be right onto of an object to detect it. Big objects like key rings, cans, bottle caps, etc. are fairly easy and so are quarters. I've yet to get any jewelry with it.
The other biggest fault is in the design. The lower shaft can snap easy. I've broken 2 already just leaning on it accidentally in the water (A real bummer when your parked far away).

Mainly its used as a addition unit that I can use while my wife is in the water with the Excal. I know I'll pick up another Excal or Beach Hunter down the line when its affordable.

Bottom line, Do you just want something for a once in the blue moon hunt or are you gonna be a serious Hunter? Thats the Question.

Good Luck
