I hunt old homesites almost exclusively and have learned to live with the noise of the MXT in high levels of junk, but am wondering if the stable threshold rule applies even when the detector is almost continuously nulling or clicking out trash. If I can't hear the threshold over all the chatter and nulling does this mean I need to decrease the gain to avoid missing a good target,or do I only need a stable t-hold over clean ground. My GND readings are usually from the 30's to upper 50's and the detector will usually run smoothly with gain at +2 or +3 (4x6 Shooter) in areas of low to moderate trash. The above applies to hunting in relic mode. Thanks for any help and
