Actually it is also a null question.
First off, I have the XS, not the XSII.
I have never been able to hunt with Threshold audible, since the adjustment on the original XS leaves a lot to be desired, which was corrected with the XSII.
I have 4 years of hunting with the XS, just below Threshold and my finds in my opinion, sure have not been shabby.
I went into the archives of this forum and found this question being raised before and I saw replies from CC, Jim and a few others stating that they basically would not think of hunting without threshold, that the nulling over iron tells you lots of things, etc, etc, etc.
Well, I do not see the point in listening to nulls. I hunt most of the time -12 to -16 Iron mask and I love hearing the iron hits, if they bother me, I will go to maybe -10 to -8. However, I feel I have not lost a thing by not hunting with a Threshold.
Would I use Threshold if it was a very faint one? YES, but it just is not possible in the max settings to get it on the original XS. To turn down the volume of the headset, would be defeating the purpose of wearing them, so rather than put up with the annoying hum of it, I hunt one notch below.
Open for comments, but again, remember I hunt with the original XS...
