Well boys, I couldn't let a nice warm morning slip by. I've been travelling a lot and getting the dreams at night about where to hunt, and reading your posts for encouragement. It was in the upper 40's and I had to go! Googled earth some new ground and saw some brand new totlots hidden behind a new school bordered by a subdivision. Thats where the rings, chain, and most of the clad came from...hit an older football stadium and behind some basketball courts, soccer fields, in the mud for the rest. 4 hours with the F70 running a higher sens than usual, 75... hit a quarter over 8" deep solid, nice damp chips, not frozen yet, and easy kickin' or stabbin' with the screwdriver. The 14k was tucked up under some of those metal noodle poles that are about a foot off the ground, now that really throws some stupid signals being that close to the coil, but I heard the faint low grunt of the ring luckily...I sure love sweepin' totters! Its so easy and even if they have been swept recently, lots of stuff gets missed. Hope everybody is out, especially Zeek, the freeze is gonna get to him just a few hours before it gets to me!

Wow Mudpuppy! nice haul. I have not had a hunt like that in awhile congrats!!!!!!

That is some good detecting Mud. Good coin count and 3 rings that isn't a bad day. It is always nice to have a good coin count and some jewelry. That makes for a good hunt. Nice work.
Tot loting I did today also. Weather is getting iffy. I could only stay out for 3 hours and called it a day because it was getting colder and colder. Happy Trails.....Z

I just got done tumbling the clad and there was a 1942 nickle in there with no mint mark..dont think its worth much more than a nickle though..had the right year, but not silver. yeah, Zeek, that one ring is nice but fake, the gold one is a nice setting but missing the stone. Hey Blade, it was unusual this late in the year to sweep that long and steadily hit stuff, and very unusual for the ground to not be frozen solid by now. Jim, I sure didn't EXPECT any gold or silver, but I left the house with the right equipment early anyway and was all keyed up and focusing on it! Isn't that pretty much how success in life goes? Just show up! "Out the door and down the road, swingin' for silver, huntin' for gold"
Mud.

Glad you are still able to get out and get todays fix. It is winter here in W Tn. Temps locked on 50 and rain. Can't trust the weather man though. Had a 90 % chance of rain today with a little less chance from around noon to 2p. Thought I might be able to slip in a quick shot at a nearby chip lot. The 90 % with a possible break, though, turned out to be 100 %. Been raining steady since early this morning. Doesn't look good for tomorrow, either. Peace! HH jim tn

Way to go mud!!!!

I went and sold that ring for 50 bucks this am, and got another 50 for some of my scrap silver, I still have lots more good looking rings I couldn't bear to see get melted, so thats 200 bucks for the year on 5 gold rings, the Wife confiscated two others along with those 2 gold medallions, and no telling how many silver rings, chains, and whatnot. So it seems that clad stabbing is more profitable for me, she lets me keep that stuff!

Yah the clad is too dirty to touch. Geez does that sound familiar. Some of the good gold rings/necklaces missing? That is a pretty/different 925 ring(s) gone? Where did they go? :surprised: I don't question because she is always happy to let me go hunting. Not only that it keeps her out of the Jewelry store.:clapping: Happy Trails....Z
