Decided to give the Arboretum a rest..... jkline and I went back to where I took the lady for a waltz on Friday, hit a few wheaties and a couple whatzits. Jeff found the second half of a small container type item that I had found the first time out. With both pieces together I was able to get it identified, most likely a 30-40s brass compass case! The compass was missing but several pics on the net places it in that category. Jeff dug a bent up mangled spoon that once cleaned was marked MontanaSilver and had an L stamped inside a square (still researching).
Yesterday we both went back to the Administration Building lawn and surrounding buildings. I headed across the street to Student Health and within minutes pulled a ‘35S Merc and a ‘27 wheat. Not much clad but did pull an open hoop earring up that had a pulltab with it (I think I hit the tab, not the earring).
Went across the other street to the Music Bldg and we hit clad bonanza! Came out of there with over $2 total from a relatively small area in short order. End of day.
Came home to clean finds and discovered earring had the smallest 925 I’ve ever encountered stamped on the inside, score!!
