Well I'm convinced I was hunting in a woods today and got a 6-8 signal @ around 4" not much around there was hitting so I open the hole and rescanned and signal went to 32 thought cool a piece of copper.
Well it is copper alright a 1864 2 cent piece I was awed thought it was a V nickle at first then got home and cleaned it up enough to see the date and the 2 cents on the back.
Now I know not to trust the TIDS to a point. The 2 center is pretty crusted up with petina so now I need to get a way to safely clean it up.
I was in a corn field earlier in the morning and pulled my first standing liberty quarter a 1925 and 192? something wheat penny.
So two first for me today and a good lesson on the TIDS.
It just gets better and better.
