Tiger shark

Member
I was considering a tiger shark and was wondering how well they deal with pulltabs VS rings. Most areas I hunt are loaded with them. They give a different sound with an excalliber but 1500 bucks is more than I can justify right now.

If it's fresh water, it will work well. Pull tabs and rings go together, dig them all to find the gold.

$1500 is the suggested retail price. If you contact one of the sponsor's you may be able to get a MUCH BETTER DEAL. I did !

Do like mike said contact a dealer for best price. Everyone digs trash its something you have to deal with just toss it in the bag and keep going.

2nd hand is an option, but be careful with underwater machines. You gotta dig ring pulls to find rings. I paid about $850 for an Excalibur 1000, second hand. Some of the hi tech machines give you a conductivity reading which you can use to identify the target before you dig it, I think even those guys still dig lots of ring pulls though....

i would hate to think i missed a good target thinking it was a pull tab so i dig them all as well. As for the choice of detector i would look around and hold out for the Excall, i am go to Mexico next week and get to use the one i bought last Oct for my Florida trip. This is my second time using it and i really like it. I have a Whites BHID that was my only water unit for 6 years and got to know that really well and thought that was all i needed till i got a deal on this Excall 2. It is a great MD and i am sure there are others that are good as well but you do the research and read these forums, save the money -or just put it on a card because if you use it enough you will pay for it in no time. Good luck with your choice--HH

Even with the Excal, when under water, I dig it all - bubbles from the gear can make the finer distinctions hard to determine; rather dig some trash and get the good stuff too than miss anything.
