This one should be fun. Prize will be a beautiful one oz. copper round. You must have posted on this forum at least one time in the last 6 months before this post.
To enter just reply under this post telling us about one of your favorite finds with your metal detector. Also what kind of place you found it at. ( Must be an actual find made with the detector )
EXAMPLE - 10K gold ring at the beach.
Pictures would be cool too! But not needed to enter.
I will put everyones name who enters in a hat and randomly draw a winner.

My most recent favourite find is a 24 gram gold nugget (3/4 ounce) found in Western Australia with a Minelab 4500.

It was 15 inches down in rock hard ground.

Here it is ...

I dug this several years ago - at a city park in Phoenix. It is 14 K , real diamonds and a real pearl. The pearl was in poor shape so I had the jeweler put in a new one - didn't cost all that much. It fit my wife just right.

I dug it under the A frame that holds a swing set up, about 6 inches deep. Didn't find anything else there but it sure made my day.

It's hard to hold a candle to those beauties, but the coolest (and oldest) thing I've ever found is this French Liard back in 00' with my Explorer XS. I found it on an apple orchard in Londonderry NH that dated back to the early 1700's. The coin was minted roughly in 1653 to 1655. (Can't lift the date it's toast on the reverse and it's barely legible on the back, hence the other picture to show the comparison.) Thanks for the contest Mike!

As stated by Sgt. Silverman, it's hard to beat the finds shown above but I do have a few favorite finds. Among them is a 1.5" x 2.5" Sterling Silver Crusifix found in one of our larger parks in Kent County, a Sterling Silver Man's Wedding Ring (larger than size 11) found @ the Grand Haven pub- lic beach next to the Michigan State Park "The Oval" in Grand Haven, and possible my most favorite find is this 1925 Dog License from Ionia County, in excellent condition, found at an out of the way older park on the east side of Kent County near Ionia County. Until I found this, I had no idea Michigan was even licensing dog's in 1925. Somehow I thought that was a process from a later period, in Michigan's history.

Love them old dog tags. I have quite a few, dating back to 1902. they actually have been around since the late 1800's. I have a friend that has one from 1877. They were originally designed so if a dog came on your property and killed your livestock, you could find out who owned the dog and get compensation.

It's a darn good thing we are going in a hat because I wouldn't stand a chance
against these great finds above. One of my favorite finds was a sterling silver
ring that I found in a tot lot. I escavated the ring at the edge of a park bench The
tot lot is in the front of a junior high school at the roads edge. I believe the tot lot
was there long before the junior high school. The ring appears to be an antique.
The size of this ring is probably a three or a four, very petite. The ring portion was
so small when I pulled it out of the ground that I thought it was an eyelet for something.
I wish everyone the best in the contest!
Anything could happen in the hat lol! God Bless!

P.S. If anyone can date this ring it would be much appreciated!

Hey Mike, even though this is your contest, do you have a best find you'd like to share with all of us? I'd love to see! Thanks.

My favorite find was a 10k class ring I found years ago with a bounty hunter sharp shooter II. I returned it to the owner and he had tears in his eyes and he told me I do not know how much it meant to him . He said it had been lost 19 years. I did not take pictures I wish I had of though.
