Time period?

Found this button along a stream in the mountains, can anyone tell me an approximate time period by the style of shank.

I have never seen a button with that type attaching loop. What else was found in the area it came from?
In that area I found a rein guide, 1912 barber dime, 1918 wheat cent. There was a forest ranger guard station across the creek until 1934. I’m beginning to think the button was hand made for personal use only. Maybe mountain man trapper or early pioneer.

Glad you think so, that was the direction I was steering toward. Mostly because of the shank. Unless it was an essential repair to a well worn button.
