you can still get the signals, but you can't get the scoop to take more than a half-inch or so of frozen sand at a time :lol:
 
Ha! No doubt!

The problem is that the sand doesn't always look frozen... I can't count how many times I just slammed that scoop down -- just about snapping my wrist. Maybe I'll trade one of my 'tectors for a jackhammer this winter.
